Iqra Eid Recital

What: Iqra students will be presenting a variety of surahs, nasheeds, and other displays of what they have been learning in celebration of Eid-al-Adha.
Where: Iqra Academy (1293 West 2200 South, Suite B)
When: Friday, November 19th, 6 -8 pm
It is requested that every family contributes a dish to feed 10 people.

Health Fair

United in Service for Humanity is hosting a free health fair on November 13, 2010 at the Horizonte Learning Center! The health fair is open to everyone and will start at 10am and end at 4 pm. There will be 5 workshops in Arabic, English, Farsi, Somali, Spanish, and Urdu, with many workshops and screenings. United Service for Humanity will also be providing free childcare by certified professionals at the fair.

UEA - No school Thursday & Friday

There will be no school on October 14th and 15th. However, you can visit UEN at the UEA Convention at the South Town Expo Center, Sandy. Parents and teachers can pick up great giveaways at the UEN booth (#114).

Parents of new and returning students for 2010-2011 enrollment may register their child(ren) on August 16th, between 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Registration and classroom supply fees are due on this day for all students. Please check our 2010-2011 tuition fee schedule.

Time: After Salat-ul-Asr (6 pm)
Place: Khadeeja Islamic Center Park
Why: Show Support for Iqra & Decide Future Location of School If we don’t come together to support Islamic Education, we are not doing our job as a community. Come show your support for the children that rely on Iqra Academy to prepare them for success in the akhira and duniya.

Summer Camp Info

UPDATE: Iqra Academy will not be hosting the summer camp at Iqra this year; however Br. Anwar Arafat is planning to lead a summer camp at Masjid al-Noor, (740 S. 700 East, Salt Lake City, UT; 801-364-7822). Our latest information says the summer camp will be held from 9 am to 3 pm, starting Monday, June 21; fees are $60 per week, per child. To enroll your child, or get additional information, please contact Br. Anwar at 801-836-0443.

Health Fair

   

The free Health Fair, held at Iqra on Saturday, February 20th, was an important “first” for the school and the community. The event brought together a variety of people, including medical professionals, teachers, parents, current and former students, other community volunteers and visitors. Initiated by the current school board, the fair became a shared accomplishment of everyone who took part.

Elections for Iqra Board of Directors will be held on Sunday, November 22, 2009 instead of November 15, 2009 (change announced 11/13/09 by ISGSL)

Please participate! Nine board members are to be elected, each to start a term of three years.
The qualifications for Board members were posted at Masjid Khadijah and Masjid al-Noor; the nomination deadline was 5:00 p.m., Nov 8, 2009.
